Bayard LaRue Christie
August 9, 1927 - November 24, 2020
Bayard ( Chris) La Rue Christie was born on August 9, 1927 in Toughkenamen , PA to Laura “Edna” Body Christie and Jacob Bayard Christie. He transitioned to his final destination on November 24, 2020 at home with family.
After his education in the public school system, he joined the United States Marine Corp serving in WWII. He worked as a welder for many years employed at Budd company for 27 years, retiring in 1990. He was an active member of church serving over the years as a deacon, tape ministry and greeter.
He was preceded by his parents, 1 son Bayard, 3 sisters Marian Brown, Phyllis McCoy and Vivian London, 3 brothers Donald Christie, James Christie and Ralph Christie.
Chris was a loving husband , father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend. He was together with his wife Janet H. Christie for 61 years. He was a father of 8 ,Bayard “Skeeter” L. Christie Jr, Deborah Christie of DE, Denice C. Hallager of PA, Henry “Buster”C. Hallager of PA, Dennis B. Hallager (Marcia) of PA.Jillquilla “Jill” M. Kelly (Erskine) of PA, Derrick C. Hallager Sr. (Theresa) of NM and Brooke N. Christie of PA. He leaves 4 sisters Constance “ Connie” Lewis of DE, Janet Yancey of DE, Nancy Christie of PA and Patricia Powell of PA., and 1 brother Frederick Christie. He also leaves a host of grandchildren, great - grandchildren , nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
